To give 24×7 power across the country, the central government is coming soon with a scheme, which will be announced by PM Modi on Monday. This scheme will be known as Saubhagya Scheme. Power Minister RK Singh said that this scheme will be started on the birthday of Deendayal Upadhyay.

By giving this subsidy it will cost an additional 17 thousand crore rupees on the center. Government wants to provide electricity in every village by 2019 for seven days and 24 hours.
Already Running Power for All Scheme
The Center had started Power for All Scheme two years ago, under which it is promise to provide 24 hours of electricity to all the villages of the country. Now there will be some changes in this scheme and announcement to create new target. The Power Ministry claims that only 3046 non-populated villages have no power supply.
7 Lakh Homes In Haryana Live In Dark, Free Connections Now Available
Even after seventy years of independence, about seven lakh homes of Haryana are in the vicinity of light. Their darkness is not yet known. All 6642 villages in the state have been electrified, but electricity is still a dream in every house.
Free Electricity Connection Under Saubhagya Yojana
According to the 2011 census, out of the total 34.21 lakh households in Haryana, on July 31, 2017, electricity has been dwindling in 27.28 lakh houses, while six lakh 93 thousand households are yet to get electricity. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana in Haryana, 17 projects were started in four and eleventh plans to bring electricity to the villages. An amount of Rs 38.67 crore was sanctioned for four projects, out of which Rs 35.70 crore has been released. Out of Rs 134.32 crore sanctioned for 17 yojana, Rs.120 crore has been spent.
Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana
Under the four schemes of Tenth Plan, 34 thousand BPL houses were deluged, whereas electricity connections have been provided in one lakh 64 thousand 25 houses out of 1 lakh 85 thousand 457 BPL houses identified under 17 schemes of Eleventh Plan. Out of seventeen plan, 15 have been closed, while three are running to provide electricity to the remaining houses.
Under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Manohar Lal Sarkar has approved 21 projects worth Rs 316 crores. Work has started in 11 projects. For which in the initial stage, seven crore 29 lakhs have been released.
Former Congress government does not apply on time, UPA plans
During the tenure of former Congress government in Haryana, the UPA government’s most important Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana was slow down in the implementation of the scheme. Even when the plan was implemented, there was a lot of flaws in it. Therefore, electricity was not available to every rural household in Haryana. In 2015, the CAG had also made the government stand on the government’s motive regarding this plan.
In Haryana, this scheme was to be notified until August 2006, but it was delayed by 58 months. In villages where the plan was to be implemented, the estimation of their load was not real to the power corporations. Financial irregularities also occurred. An additional payment of Rs 15.36 crore was made to the contractors.
